Introduction to map reading and navigation

Our day will start and finish in the beautiful town of Newport, Pembrokeshire. 

 

We will start at 10am and finish at about 3:30pm. 

 

The walk will take in country footpaths, woodland, open access land and coast path with some stunning views along the way.

 

There will be some uphill walking but nothing technical and nothing too steep.  There are several stiles to climb over but other than that the walking is simple and enjoyable.

We’ll walk at the pace of the group and absolutely everyone is welcome.

​

We will learn about OS maps and the information we can find on them.  We’ll work out how to find where we are on the map and how to follow a route. 

 

We’ll explore strategies to keep us on track and talk about the next steps you might want take.  Most of all, we’ll have fun and enjoy our time in the outdoors – whatever the weather.
